Jammu, Jan 16: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah emphasized the importance of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ initiative, describing it as a transformative effort designed to strengthen families and empower future generations. He reiterated the government’s commitment to advancing women’s rights and actively working towards their empowerment.
According to Abdullah, the campaign is set to revitalize the rural economy and lay the groundwork for development and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking at the ‘Lakhpati Didi Sammelan’ organized by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in Jammu, he highlighted that this initiative goes beyond merely increasing the income of women; it represents a significant movement towards fortifying family units and nurturing future leaders.
“This campaign is set to revolutionize the rural economic landscape, offering new paths to progress and prosperity,” he stated.
Abdullah further noted that the essential role of women in the development of Jammu and Kashmir is crucial. “The active involvement of our mothers, sisters, and daughters is indispensable for our progress,” he added.
