CM engages with delegations at Raabita office

SRINAGAR, Dec 26: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held discussions with several delegations today, reaffirming his Government’s dedication to tackling the challenges encountered by different sectors of society.
This took place during his public outreach program at the Raabita office, where numerous delegations and individuals from across Kashmir voiced their concerns and requests.
The Chief Minister engaged with various stakeholders, including members from education, artisan, labor, and healthcare sectors, who presented urgent issues that need attention.
The J&K College Teachers Association urged the Chief Minister to consider increasing the retirement age for college educators in Jammu and Kashmir.
Artisans from the Kashmiri Shawl Makers Welfare Foundation raised concerns about the difficulties faced in the traditional shawl-making industry and sought government assistance to protect their livelihoods.
Additionally, a five-member delegation representing Hot Mix Plant owners informed Omar about the challenges their industry is facing and requested timely interventions.
The J&K Casual Labourers United Front, led by its UT president, expressed concerns regarding the welfare of casual laborers. Meanwhile, a delegation of physiotherapists outlined specific challenges within their sector that require prompt resolution.
A delegation from the Health Workers Welfare Association, headed by their president, brought to light issues affecting healthcare workers, while the Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) highlighted the necessity for a comprehensive approach to employee welfare.
Contractors from the Saubhagya scheme in Ganderbal and South Kashmir requested government assistance to overcome operational challenges in project execution.
The outreach program also allowed numerous individuals to meet with the Chief Minister, presenting their grievances and suggestions for addressing various issues they face.
The Chief Minister assured all attending delegations and individuals of a considerate and responsive approach, stressing that their valid concerns would be prioritized for resolution.
Furthermore, a joint delegation from multiple Bazar Committees of the City Centre in Lal Chowk and other regions met with the Chief Minister, sharing the traders’ community’s issues from areas like Lal Chowk, Hari Singh High Street, Poloview, Regal Chowk, Maisuma, Court Road, and others.
The delegation submitted a memorandum of demands, advocating for development and revitalization of business along with increased customer footfall in the City Central Lal Chowk and surrounding markets in Srinagar.
The Chief Minister promised the delegation that their legitimate concerns and issues would be addressed as a priority.
