NEW DELHI, Jan 10: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Friday that there is significant potential to boost exports of food, beverages, and marine products to USD 100 billion within the next 4-5 years, driven by substantial global demand for these items.
While engaging with stakeholders from the food and beverage sector, the minister encouraged businesses to prioritize quality, nutrition, and sustainability.
“I envision reaching a three-figure milestone—a USD 100 billion mark—in our exports of food, beverages, marine products, and agriculture within the coming 4-5 years,” Goyal remarked.
He emphasized that this goal is not overly ambitious, urging the industry to collaborate in elevating exports to this benchmark.
To improve production quality, the government is proposing to expand testing laboratories across the nation.
