CHANDIGARH, Dec 09: A suspected intruder from Pakistan was shot dead along the International Border in the Amritsar district of Punjab, as reported by a BSF spokesperson on Monday.
The occurrence took place in the border vicinity near Mahawa village on Sunday night when BSF personnel detected unusual movement.
“During the night, vigilant BSF personnel on duty noticed the suspicious actions of a Pakistani intruder, who stealthily crossed the international border and began moving towards the border security fence, taking advantage of the darkness,” stated the spokesperson. (Agencies)
The BSF personnel confronted the intruder; however, he did not comply and ran toward the security fence, according to the spokesperson.
“Observing his aggressive advance, the on-duty troops fired upon the intruder, neutralizing him immediately,” the spokesperson added.
A shoulder bag containing clothing and personal items was recovered from the scene, as per the spokesperson’s report. (Agencies)
