Jammu, Dec 18: Today, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched the Silver Jubilee edition of the Shri Raghvendra Panchang at the University of Jammu.
During his address, he extended his congratulations to Chander Mouli Raina, the Panchang’s editorial team, and all members of the Shri Raghvendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust on this significant milestone.

The Lieutenant Governor praised the Trust’s efforts to raise awareness about traditions and to uphold the legacy of the Panchang, which signifies the rich cultural diversity and heritage of our nation.
“Our research into astrology and ancient texts should resonate with people from all backgrounds. It’s essential to promote global well-being. We must emphasize the value of leading a spiritually enriched life and instilling values among our citizens,” he stated.
He highlighted the importance of understanding history to enhance our thinking and decision-making skills, essential for a brighter future. “Returning to our roots provides a clearer vision and direction for the future,” he advised.
The Lieutenant Governor also recommended that the Shri Raghvendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust consider digital publishing of the Panchang and develop a mobile application for added accessibility.
He stressed that the wisdom embedded in our ancient traditions should be readily available, particularly for the younger generation.
To commemorate the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor honored various organizations and individuals for their contributions to promoting the Sanskrit language.
Among those present were Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu; Prof. Devi Prasad Tripathi, former Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand University; Chandra Mouli Raina, President of the Shri Raghvendra Jyotish Sansthan Trust; Prof. Ram Bahadur Shukla, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Jammu University; and several notable citizens.
Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, and Rajinder Sharma, former Mayor of JMC, were also in attendance.
