Karachi, Feb 22: The Pakistan Cricket Board has conveyed its dissatisfaction to the ICC regarding the omission of Pakistan’s name from the tournament logo displayed during the live broadcast of the India versus Bangladesh match in the Champions Trophy.
This match took place in Dubai on Thursday.
As per PCB sources, the ICC has acknowledged this oversight and ensured that the three-line logo featuring Pakistan’s name will be included in all Dubai matches — which is the same broadcast graphic used during the matches held in the host country.
India is participating in all their games in Dubai as part of the hybrid model established by the relevant stakeholders.
“Yes, it’s confirmed that the PCB has officially contacted the ICC, and the ICC has assured the PCB that they will employ the three-line horizontal logo with Pakistan’s name for all matches in Dubai – identical to the broadcast graphic used in Karachi matches on February 19 and 21,” a PCB source informed PTI.
It has been revealed that the ICC has indicated to PCB that it was a technical blunder.
During the India-Bangladesh match, the logo in the top left corner of the broadcast only displayed the event name — Champions Trophy 2025 — excluding the name of Pakistan, the host country.
India emerged victorious against Bangladesh by six wickets in that match, marking their opener in the eight-team competition.
The graphics are designed and produced by the UK-based firm Sunset & Vine under the ICC’s supervision well in advance and are supplied for the live broadcast.
This issue gained attention just before the highly anticipated Champions Trophy clash between traditional rivals India and Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday. (PTI)
