JAMMU, Jan 31: The president of J&K BJP, Sat Sharma, expressed that the Sikh community’s contributions to society and the nation have been acknowledged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has implemented numerous initiatives for their benefit.
During a meeting with a delegation primarily representing the Sikh community at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, Sat Sharma highlighted the efforts made by PM Modi for the Sikh community and Sikhism.
“The Prime Minister inaugurated the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, established the Shree Guru Nanak Ji Chair at a British university, designated Sultanpur Lodhi as a heritage city, and honored the Chhote Sahibzadas, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh, by declaring December 26 each year as Veer Baal Diwas. Thanks to PM Modi’s endeavors, the revered Shree Guru Granth Sahib was respectfully brought back to India from Afghanistan,” he stated.
A group of social activists and notable citizens led by Kamalpreet Singh from Sainik Colony, Jammu, visited Sat Sharma at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
The delegation raised various issues and requests, which included the construction of a community hall for senior citizens, a cremation ground, and a hospital in the Sainik Colony area. They also urged the resolution of issues related to lanes, drains, streetlight maintenance, consistent drinking water supply, security concerns, and the presence of stray cattle in Sainik Colony.
Sat Sharma attentively listened to all concerns and assured that efforts would be made to address the issues with priority. He emphasized that the Modi Government adheres to the principles of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” committing to the welfare of all communities and regions, particularly those that have been historically neglected and marginalized.
