Modi noted that voters in Delhi have effectively rejected shortcut politics, asserting that the outcome signals a demand for integrity and truthfulness in governance. During his address to party members at the BJP headquarters, he stated that the electorate has turned away from the AAP and expressed confidence that a “double-engine government” will accelerate development.
He remarked, “The people of Delhi are rejoicing in the BJP’s victory and relief from AAP’s rule.” Modi thanked the citizens for their faith in him, stating that the BJP’s governance will foster rapid progress in the capital. He characterized this victory as a significant milestone, asserting that Delhi has become “AAP-da-mukt.”
The Prime Minister criticized the Congress for failing to gain traction in the last six elections, suggesting that the party is finding solace in its own defeats. “The nation is unwilling to support the Congress,” he stated, denouncing it as a “parasitic” entity that drags its allies down with it.
He highlighted the Congress’s attempts to undermine regional parties by adopting their issues and rhetoric, indicating a systematic strategy to gain electoral advantage. Modi pointed out the party’s efforts to attract voters in various states, including its endeavors in Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jammu & Kashmir, and Bengal.
Additionally, he noted that this marked the first time since independence when the BJP holds power across all states in the NCR. He lambasted Congress for attempting to reshape its image post-2014, asserting that their insincere efforts to connect with Hindu voters ultimately fell flat. Modi stated that people are becoming increasingly aware of Congress’s tactics.
Addressing the younger generation, he called for fresh ideas and new energy to drive the nation’s political landscape into the 21st century, emphasizing that the country needs a serious political overhaul. He reiterated that the people of Delhi have proven they reject those who exploit the city for personal gain.
Following a decisive victory over the Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP returns to power in Delhi after over 26 years, deepening its influence and dealing a heavy blow to Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership. In concluding remarks, Modi reaffirmed that the mandate from Delhi voters reflects a dismissal of corruption and dishonesty in politics.
“Delhi’s voters have consistently supported me in Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP winning all seven seats in each of the three general elections,” he affirmed. (Agencies)
