New Delhi, Feb 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi connected with students on numerous topics including nutrition, managing stress, and leadership during the eighth edition of his annual ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ which was aired on Monday.
Modi emphasized that ‘gyan’ (knowledge) and examinations are distinctly different, urging students not to treat exams as the ultimate measure of success in life.
In an interactive session with students from various states and UTs across the nation, the prime minister encouraged exploration of passions and interests beyond academic constraints.
He advised students to effectively manage their time for optimized productivity.
Addressing topics like ‘master your time, master your life; live in the moment; and nourish to flourish,’ he welcomed various questions from the students.
In a departure from the conventional town hall style, Modi chose a more casual environment this year, convening about 35 students at Sunder Nursery for a more profound and open discussion.
He urged parents not to use their children as a means for personal bragging and to avoid making comparisons with others. Instead, they should provide support.
The prime minister underscored the significance of adequate sleep and asserted that students should not feel their lives are ruined if they do not achieve top marks.
He advised that students manage pressure like sports players do amidst crowd noise, focusing on what’s next while ignoring external expectations.
Modi challenged students to continually strive for improvement compared to their past performances.
He also highlighted the importance of proper nutrition and the practice of meditation.
On the subject of leadership, he noted that people’s perceptions are influenced by leaders’ actions, asserting that mere speeches are not sufficient.
Several renowned figures, including actress Deepika Padukone, boxer MC Mary Kom, and spiritual leader Sadhguru, have shared valuable insights with students on various life and learning themes during different episodes of this year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha. (Agencies)
