NEW DELHI, Dec 19: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a conversation with King Charles III of the UK, during which they discussed various matters of common interest, including the Commonwealth, climate action, and sustainability.
In a post shared on X, the Prime Minister stated:
“I had a delightful conversation with HM King Charles III today. We reaffirmed our commitment to enhance India-UK relations and exchanged views on several issues of mutual concern, such as the Commonwealth, climate action, and sustainability.
“I extended my wishes for his good health and well-being.”
A statement emphasized their shared commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UK, recalling their historical ties.
They discussed topics related to the Commonwealth of Nations as well as the recently conducted Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.
Conversations also covered various subjects of mutual interest, particularly Climate Action and sustainability. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for His Majesty’s ongoing advocacy and initiatives relating to these topics and shared information regarding India’s numerous initiatives.
Both leaders exchanged greetings in light of the upcoming Christmas and New Year festivities.
“The Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the King for his health and well-being,” the statement added.
