NEW DELHI, Feb 18: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the bond between Gujarat and the BJP is not only unyielding but is also strengthening with each passing day, following the ruling party’s significant success in the local body elections in his home state.
In a post on X, he expressed gratitude to the citizens of Gujarat, stating that this victory symbolizes the politics of development.
“It is truly humbling to witness the continued faith that the people of Gujarat place in us. These extraordinary blessings fuel our determination to serve the community even more fervently,” he remarked.
The Prime Minister commended the efforts of BJP volunteers, highlighting their vital role in achieving this remarkable outcome.
The BJP dominated the local body elections in Gujarat, claiming victory in the Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) along with 60 out of 68 municipalities and all three taluka panchayats, where voting took place on February 16.
Notably, the BJP has succeeded in acquiring 15 municipalities from Congress in a state where it has maintained electoral supremacy, having won the 2022 Assembly elections and 25 out of 26 Lok Sabha seats last year. (PTI)
