New Delhi, Jan 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that India has significant potential to emerge as the global hub for health and wellness. He believes that soon, in addition to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the world will embrace ‘Heal in India’ as a guiding principle.

These comments were made during a virtual ceremony to lay the foundation stone for a new Central Ayurveda Research Institute building in Rohini, which he described as “Ayurveda’s next big leap.”

Among the attendees were Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge), Prataprao Jadhav, along with other dignitaries.

The new facility, spread over 2.92 acres and developed at a cost of Rs 187 crore, will feature a 100-bed hospital aimed at promoting Ayurveda research and delivering healthcare services, according to an official statement.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to making healthcare accessible to the economically disadvantaged, Modi emphasized the promotion of traditional Indian medical systems such as AYUSH and Ayurveda.

He noted that over the last decade, the AYUSH system has expanded to over 100 countries.

Modi also pointed out that India is establishing the first World Health Organization (WHO) institution focused on traditional medicine.

Having recently inaugurated the second phase of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Modi congratulated the residents of Delhi on the foundation laying for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute.

He reiterated India’s vast potential to become the global health and wellness capital, and predicted that the phrase ‘Heal in India’ will soon gain worldwide recognition, akin to the ‘Make in India’ campaign.

To assist foreign nationals in receiving AYUSH treatments in India, a special AYUSH visa program has been introduced, which has already benefited hundreds of international visitors in a short time, added Modi.

During the event, Jadhav expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s leadership, stating, “This facility will advance research and quality healthcare, positively impacting millions of lives across the nation.” (PTI)
