During the launch of several railway projects, including the inauguration of services in the Jammu division, Modi emphasized the railways’ historic transformation over the last decade. He noted that this transformation has significantly altered India’s image and improved public confidence, as he addressed an audience that included the chief ministers of Telangana, Odisha, and Jammu and Kashmir among other dignitaries joining virtually from their states. Modi remarked that as people increasingly seek to reduce travel time, the demand for high-speed trains has surged.

He pointed out that over 136 Vande Bharat trains are currently operational across more than 50 routes, mentioning a recent trial run where the train reached speeds of 180 kilometers per hour. “The time when the first bullet train will run in India is not far,” he stated.

With a series of infrastructure projects being launched in recent days, Modi highlighted that India is keeping pace with connectivity improvements as the new year unfolds. He described it as a significant milestone in “new-age connectivity” for various regions of the country.

Modi emphasized the philosophy of “sabka sath, sabka vikas,” asserting that the country is advancing together. He reiterated that the modernization of infrastructure, enhancement of passenger amenities, improved connectivity across all regions, and support for employment and industries are the guiding principles for the rail sector’s development. He also provided updates on the expansion of the Metro network and the reforms underway in the Railways. (Agencies)
