New Delhi, Feb 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Union Budget delivered by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as a “people’s budget” that empowers citizens by increasing disposable income. He emphasized that this budget acts as a catalyst for investment and growth.
In his televised address following the budget announcement, Modi highlighted that the government is opening various sectors for the youth, who are expected to play a crucial role in realizing the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India).
“This Budget is a force multiplier, enhancing savings, investments, consumption, and growth,” he remarked, commending the finance minister and her team for their efforts in drafting a budget focused on the populace.
He explained that while typical budgets aim at boosting government revenues, this particular budget prioritizes increasing the income of citizens, encouraging savings, and inviting citizen participation in the development process.
“The Budget sets a solid groundwork for improving savings and enabling citizen involvement in development,” Modi stated.
He also noted that initiatives for gig workers reflect the government’s commitment to labor dignity.
Modi remarked that the manufacturing sector measures outlined in the Budget would elevate Indian products on the global stage, while tax relief would significantly benefit the middle class and salaried individuals.
Additionally, he mentioned that the budget’s provisions for farmers would transform the agriculture sector and bolster the rural economy.
“Numerous vital reforms have been introduced in this Budget. Promoting private sector participation in nuclear energy is a historic step that will significantly contribute to the country’s development,” the Prime Minister added. (Agencies)
