NEW DELHI, Jan 16: On the ninth anniversary of the ‘Startup India’ initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised this groundbreaking program, stating that it has significantly positioned India as one of the largest and most dynamic startup ecosystems in the world.
He described it as a landmark initiative that has reshaped the landscape of innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth, emphasizing its importance to him personally due to its role in empowering the youth.
In a message on X, he noted, “Over the past nine years, this transformative program has enabled countless young innovators to turn their ideas into successful startups.”
He reflected on how skepticism surrounded India’s capacity to adapt to this model merely ten years ago.
Modi highlighted that this program has enabled a diverse range of startups—spanning tech solutions, rural advancements, healthcare innovations, biotech developments, Fintech, EdTech, clean energy, and sustainable technologies—addressing global challenges while generating job opportunities and advancing the nation’s self-reliance.
He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to nurturing an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports dreams and contributes to ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ stating that they have tirelessly encouraged a startup culture.
The focus of government policies, he noted, has been on enhancing the “Ease of Doing Business,” facilitating access to resources, and providing robust support throughout the entrepreneurial journey.
Modi added, “We are actively fostering innovation and incubation centers to encourage our youth to take risks. I have been consistently engaging with emerging startups.”
He concluded by asserting that the success of Startup India demonstrates that contemporary India is dynamic, confident, and prepared for the future.
Modi expressed his appreciation to all young entrepreneurs in the startup scene and encouraged more youth to embark on this journey, assuring them, “You won’t be disappointed.”
