Prayagraj, Feb 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a holy dip at Triveni Sangam—the sacred junction of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers—during the Mahakumbh 2025 festivities in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday morning.
Following his arrival in Prayagraj, the Prime Minister enjoyed a boat ride along the Yamuna River accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Dressed in a vibrant saffron jacket paired with blue track pants, he participated in the rituals.
The Mahakumbh, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is recognized as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering, drawing devotees from around the world. This grand event is set to continue until Mahashivratri on February 26.
Emphasizing his dedication to preserving and promoting India’s spiritual and cultural legacy, the Prime Minister has taken significant measures to enhance the infrastructure and facilities at pilgrimage locations.
Previously, on December 13, 2024, during his visit to Prayagraj, the Prime Minister inaugurated 167 development projects valued at Rs 5,500 crore, aimed at improving connectivity, amenities, and services for the public. (AGENCIES)
