NEW DELHI, Jan 5:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate multiple railway projects tomorrow, including the establishment of the Jammu Railway Division and a new terminal station in Telangana, through video conferencing.
The Prime Minister will officially open the Charlapalli New Terminal station in Telangana and lay the foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division building of the East Coast Railway.

As per an official statement, the Jammu division aims to fulfill the long-standing aspirations of the local population by enhancing connectivity to other regions of India.
The new division is expected to generate employment, facilitate infrastructure growth, boost tourism, and contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the area, the statement indicated.
This division will encompass the following segments: Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (423 route km), Bhogpur-Sirwal-Pathankot (87.21 route km), Batala (excluding)-Pathankot (68.17 route km), and Pathankot-Joginder Nagar (narrow gauge section, 163.72 route km).
In total, these sections will extend over 742.1 kilometers.
Currently, Indian Railways operates 17 zones with 68 divisions throughout the nation.
With the establishment of this new division, Indian Railways will now possess 70 divisions under its 17 zones.
The Charlapalli New Terminal station, located in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, has been developed as a new coaching terminal and includes a second entry, with construction costs around Rs 413 crore.
The eco-friendly terminal will provide excellent passenger amenities and alleviate congestion at existing coaching terminals in cities like Secunderabad, Hyderabad, and Kacheguda, according to the statement. (PTI)
