MUMBAI, Jan 19: On Sunday, Mumbai police confirmed the apprehension of a 30-year-old individual who allegedly stabbed actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence.
Initial investigations indicate that the assailant may have entered the actor’s home with the intent to commit theft, according to a senior police official speaking to reporters.
The man, arrested in the nearby Thane area, was identified as a Bangladeshi national who had assumed the name Bijoy Das after entering India, the official revealed.
In a shocking incident that has raised concerns about security and motives in the world of celebrities, the Bollywood star was reportedly stabbed multiple times by the intruder inside his upscale Bandra apartment around 2.30 am on Thursday.
Khan, aged 54, underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital following the attack. Medical professionals have stated that he is on the road to recovery and may be discharged soon.
