Srinagar, Dec 12: On Thursday, police announced the attachment of properties linked to two infamous drug dealers in the Kashmir Valley, claiming these assets were obtained through illegal trafficking under the Narco Act.

The Pulwama police, in a concerted effort to combat drug trafficking, attached a single-story residential property valued at around ₹20 lakhs. This property belongs to Javaid Ahmad Ganaie, a notorious drug dealer residing in Loolipora Kakapora. Police indicated that the property was identified as illegally obtained during their investigation, stating that it was likely acquired through illicit drug trafficking.
Currently, Ganaie is incarcerated at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu under the PIT NDPS (Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. The attachment action was executed under sections 68-E and 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act of 1985, associated with the NDPS case in PS Kakapora and Police Station Pulwama.
In a similar operation, police in Awantipora attached another single-story residential property valued at approximately ₹25 lakhs, owned by Tajamul Masoodi, another notorious drug dealer from Bagander, Pampore. This property was also identified as illegally acquired through illicit drug trafficking, as per police investigations.
Masoodi is involved in multiple cases and is currently detained under the PIT-NDPS Act, also held at Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu. (Agencies)
