ANANTNAG, Jan 7: In a notable initiative against drug trafficking and associated financial networks, Anantnag Police stated on Tuesday that they have attached the double-storied residential property of Khurshid Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Gani Dar, a resident of Satkipora.
The property, constructed on 1 Kanal of land and assessed to be worth around Rs 1 crore, was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, according to an issued statement.
The house has been connected to the proceeds of drug trafficking, it further mentioned.
The accused is connected to a significant narcotics case registered under FIR No. 47/2019 at Police Station Srigufwara, involving the seizure of considerable amounts of illicit substances, as reported by the police.
“This decisive action reinforces Anantnag Police’s dedication to eliminating the drug menace and dismantling the economic framework that supports the illegal narcotics trade. The initiative aims to deter criminal activities and shield society from the detrimental impacts of drug abuse,” the police stated.
Meanwhile, the police appealed to the community to assist in their efforts towards establishing a drug-free society and reiterated their determination to take strict legal steps against those engaged in drug-related offenses.
