Badaun (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 9: Praveen Togadia, the national president of Bajrang Dal, asserted that all mosques constructed during the Mughal era were built upon the ruins of temples. His statement was made during a program in the Bilsi region on Sunday evening, part of his tour across western Uttar Pradesh ahead of the Maha Kumbh festival. Togadia claimed to have seen a list detailing the destruction of 12,000 temples to make way for these mosques.
He also voiced concerns regarding violence directed at members of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. “If the protesters’ battle is against the Bangladesh government, why are Hindus suffering? The nation needs a government that can safeguard Hindus and respond adequately,” he stated. Following the ousting of the Sheikh Hasina-led government in August due to significant student protests, Bangladesh has witnessed a surge in violence against religious minorities, particularly the Hindu community.
