Congress to fully engage in ULB elections

JAMMU, Jan 3: JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra urged former corporators and candidates from the last Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) election to staunchly defend the core values of India, which are currently being challenged by the BJP-RSS alliance as never before.
In his address to the former corporators and JMC candidates today, Karra emphasized that the Congress ideology is rooted in the essential principles of India and the Constitution, advocating for unity in diversity. He warned that these fundamental values are under threat from the BJP-RSS and other divisive forces, posing a significant risk to the unity of a pluralistic India.
Karra held an all-day interaction session with the ex-corporators and candidates from the Jammu Municipal Corporation, gathering feedback on organizational matters and the party’s grassroots structure. He attentively heard their perspectives and encouraged them to bolster the Congress party in their respective wards.
He advised them to be attentive to the community’s issues and to communicate these concerns to the party’s senior leadership and local administration for resolution.
Karra stated that it is the fundamental responsibility of the Congress party and its members across the nation to counter the false narratives propagated by the BJP-RSS against the core values of India and the secular principles advocated by the party’s leadership.
He expressed that the Congress ideology, which upholds the principle of unity in diversity, has been championed by the likes of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Moulana Azad, and Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He called on party leaders and members to prepare for intensifying efforts aimed at restoring statehood, which he affirmed is a legitimate right of the people of J&K.
