NEW DELHI, Jan 9: President Droupadi Murmu expressed her sorrow upon learning about the tragic stampede in Tirupati that resulted in the loss of several devotees’ lives. She conveyed her deepest condolences to the families affected by this tragedy and extended her prayers for the swift recovery of those injured.
“I am deeply saddened to hear that a stampede in Tirupati has caused the deaths of many devotees. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and pray for the rapid recovery of the injured,” Murmu stated in a post on X.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night, where at least six devotees lost their lives and many others sustained injuries as large crowds vied for tickets to the Vaikunta Dwara Darshanam at the Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple on the Tirumala Hills.
