New Delhi, Jan 31: President Droupadi Murmu stated on Friday that the current government’s third term is operating at triple the pace of prior administrations, highlighting recent decisions regarding Waqf boards and One Nation, One Election.
In her address to a joint session of Parliament, which marked the beginning of the Budget session, Murmu emphasized the government’s commitment to prioritizing youth education and generating new employment opportunities.
At the outset of her address, she paid tribute to former prime minister Manmohan Singh, who recently passed away, and honored those who lost their lives at the Maha Kumbh.
“The third term of the government is witnessing work at thrice the speed of previous administrations. The government has made significant decisions regarding matters such as Waqf boards and One Nation, One Election,” she remarked.
“As part of the Ayushman Bharat initiative, the government has chosen to extend health insurance coverage to six crore citizens aged 70 and above. There is a targeted effort on youth education and the creation of new job opportunities,” added Murmu.
Furthermore, the president mentioned that the government plans to broaden the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to provide housing for an additional three crore families. (Agencies)
