NEW DELHI, Jan 20: Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP leader, stated on Monday that if the party is re-elected in Delhi, his main focus will be on creating job opportunities for the youth.
Speaking at a “janasabha” in the Vishwas Nagar Assembly constituency in anticipation of the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, Kejriwal emphasized, “My foremost initiative will revolve around employment. I am committed to providing jobs for our young people. Ensuring employment for our youth is my highest priority.”
During his speech, the AAP national convenor also highlighted the accomplishments of his party’s government in Delhi over the last decade, which included the provision of free electricity, water, healthcare, and enhancements in government schooling facilities.
“We offer free electricity, water, healthcare, and quality education in government schools. You can check with your relatives in BJP-ruled states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Haryana about the zero electricity bills they receive,” Kejriwal remarked.
He cautioned voters against supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), suggesting that their vote for the saffron party would jeopardize mohalla clinics, eliminate free bus rides for women, and result in the need to pay for bus tickets.
Kejriwal also laid out significant pledges under the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) manifesto for the forthcoming elections, including a monthly financial aid of Rs 2,100 for women through the “Mahila Samman Yojana” and complimentary healthcare services for senior citizens via the “Sanjeevani Yojana.”
Additionally, he criticized the BJP for the claimed deterioration of law and order in Delhi.
“BJP leaders never disclose what they have achieved for the city in the past decade. Their only focus is on defaming me. They resort to various insults,” he stated.
Kejriwal was joined by AAP candidate Deepak Singhla from Vishwas Nagar during the event, where the ruling party is anticipated to face a challenging contest against BJP’s O P Sharma, who has triumphed in the last three elections held in 2013, 2015, and 2020.
The AAP, which secured 62 out of 70 seats in the 2020 elections, aims for a third consecutive term in power in Delhi. The election results will be announced on February 8.
