SRINAGAR, Dec 16: On Monday, local authorities seized two residential properties linked to suspected drug traffickers in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, as reported by a police spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, the police in Kupwara have confiscated two residential homes in the border area of Karnah under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He mentioned that this is the first instance of such rigorous action being undertaken under the NDPS Act in this area.
“One of the seized properties is situated in Pingla Haridal and is owned by Riyaz Ahmad Shah,” he stated.
The other property, found in Chitterkote Karnah, belongs to Jahangir Ahmad Khan, the spokesperson confirmed.
“The total market value of these properties is estimated at around 40 lakhs,” he added.
