NEW DELHI, Jan 17: Qualcomm Technologies and MapmyIndia have announced a collaborative effort to enhance the ‘Make in India’ initiative within the automotive industry.
By merging Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions with MapmyIndia’s specialized knowledge, the partnership aims to provide advanced automotive connectivity and services for both four-wheeled (4W) and two-wheeled (2W) vehicles, catering to domestic and international car manufacturers.
The collaboration will enable MapmyIndia to leverage Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform to create telematics solutions specifically designed for Indian automotive companies, as detailed in an official release.
Additionally, the report highlighted that MapmyIndia’s solutions will empower original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to provide high-quality yet cost-effective connectivity options for mid-tier and lower-tier vehicles, with a strong focus on enhancing safety and convenience for the broader market.
MapmyIndia plans to incorporate Snapdragon Car-to-Cloud Services with its MAPPLS automotive services to develop a software-defined vehicle framework. This integration will facilitate cloud and device services for both two- and four-wheeled vehicles, as well as commercial vehicles utilizing Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions.
The unified platform and shared interface aim to streamline the management of devices, data, navigation, and services.
With this comprehensive solution, MapmyIndia will enhance and tailor applications and application programming interfaces (APIs) to improve the overall service experience, ensuring that users receive a personalized interaction customized to their individual needs and preferences. (PTI)
