JAMMU, Dec 23: Emphasizing the critical role of quality education, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary stated today that it nurtures discipline while enhancing the intellectual capabilities of the youth.
“Education fosters discipline and facilitates the spiritual development of youth, ultimately contributing to a developed and prosperous nation,” said the Deputy Chief Minister.
He was addressing the annual celebration at Sainik School Nagrota today.
Praising the institution for its long-standing commitment to quality education, he noted that it has significantly influenced the future of the younger generation. He highlighted that alumni of the school have carved out successful paths in various fields.
Urging the youth to dedicate themselves to their studies, the Deputy Chief Minister cautioned against indulging in harmful habits that could jeopardize their health and future. He encouraged them to instead focus their energy and time on propelling the nation towards growth and prosperity.
The event began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented to the Chief Guest, showcasing the distinctive discipline and precision of Sainik School Nagrota.
The Deputy Chief Minister also opened an exhibition highlighting art, photography, and science in the academic block, demonstrating the creativity and scientific prowess of the cadets.
The cultural program held at the School Auditorium was a lively affair, featuring a range of performances that showcased the students’ talents and diversity. A notable moment was the presentation of the Cock House Trophy, awarded to Sindh House for achieving overall Championship in both junior and senior categories.
In his address, Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, the Principal, shared the school’s annual report, highlighting impressive accomplishments throughout the Academic Session 2024-25, as well as its dedication to academic excellence, comprehensive development, and instilling patriotism among cadets.
