NEW DELHI, Jan 10: On Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of collaboration among like-minded nations to achieve collective actions for peace amid ongoing global conflicts. Speaking at the Ambassadors’ Round Table, he highlighted the upcoming Aero India aerospace exhibition set for next month in India as a valuable opportunity for countries to come together to explore their strengths and capabilities while addressing essential “strategic” and “tactical needs”.
Singh remarked that aerospace power signifies the “new frontier of military dominance,” serving as a vital strategic deterrent. The biennial Aero India event is scheduled to take place at Yelahanka, near Bengaluru, from February 10-14, aiming to position India as a prominent hub for defense manufacturing.
“It is crucial for like-minded nations to collaborate for collective actions aimed at peace and prosperity,” he stated. “Without this unity, future generations may miss out on the economic growth and technological advancements that we enjoy today,” he conveyed to the ambassadors of various nations.
He noted that India is emerging as a leading advocate for the Global South, promoting a multi-aligned policy approach to ensure diverse perspectives are included in the collective pursuit of prosperity. “In today’s geopolitical context, fostering cooperation among like-minded nations is vital for mutual prosperity and peace while tackling contemporary challenges,” he added.
Singh reaffirmed India’s long-standing commitment to shared prosperity and responsibility, rooted in the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (One Earth, One Family). He characterized Aero India as a platform where “nations forge connections beyond borders”.
Expanding on the vision for this biennial event, he mentioned it as a significant meeting ground for the aerospace and defense industries to showcase their products and technologies, serving as a forum for forming strategic partnerships that enhance business opportunities, technology transfer, joint development, and co-production.
The Aero India exhibition will include a Defence Ministers’ Conclave, a CEOs’ round-table, and a comprehensive exhibition featuring an India Pavilion along with a trade fair for aerospace companies. The first three days are designated as business days, with February 13 and 14 open to the public to allow everyone to experience the event. (PTI)
