JAMMU, Dec 22: The Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, conducted an inspection of the Boria Filtration Plant located at Bagh-e-Bahu.
During his inspection, the Minister stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in the area and reprimanded officials for the unsanitary conditions present. He ordered immediate action for cleanliness, landscaping, and planting at all water facilities across J&K. Additionally, he highlighted the necessity of preserving water quality through regular testing to ensure that safe and clean drinking water is provided to the community.
Javed Ahmed Rana also evaluated the amenities at Jambu Zoo, underscoring the need for effective conservation, the promotion of eco-tourism, and improved animal care. He instructed officials to enhance facilities for animal enthusiasts while simultaneously prioritizing animal welfare.
Furthermore, Minister Rana assessed the conditions at the Gujjar and Bakarwal PG boys hostel in Jammu.
During this visit, he engaged with the students and encouraged them to invest their time and energy into more productive activities.
Speaking during the visit, Rana expressed that the government is aware of the challenges faced by the hostel residents and is fully dedicated to providing the necessary facilities for the student populace. He also discussed various student support services available at the hostel, including the library services, hostels amenities, a well-stocked library, and additional student welfare services.
He directed the Director of Tribal Affairs to devise an action plan aimed at enhancing the facilities to benefit the student community, fostering an environment conducive to learning for children from marginalized backgrounds.
Encouraging students to develop reading habits, Rana stated that reading broadens knowledge and wisdom. He emphasized the need to connect the younger generation with books and promote reading habits among children, highlighting the importance of strengthening libraries and ensuring the availability of quality literature.
