JAMMU, Dec 2: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmad Rana, has urged officers from the Jammu division to enhance the ease of living for residents, focusing on providing services directly to their doorsteps.
These instructions were given during a meeting with officials from Poonch district and senior personnel from various departments across the Jammu division.
He emphasized the critical requirement for inclusive development that benefits all regions and sub-regions of J&K, especially those that have been historically overlooked.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to promoting the welfare of remote areas, Rana expressed that the elected government is dedicated to ensuring that benefits reach all individuals.
Javed Rana highlighted the need to improve both the sophistication and the speed of implementing schemes aimed at beneficiaries and directed officers to collaborate effectively for quick service delivery.
Earlier today, multiple delegations and individuals approached the Minister to present their requests and concerns.
A group from Samba, consisting of daily wagers in the Jal Shakti Department, discussed their issues and requested the prompt resolution of pending wages, which have been outstanding for several months.
Another group of daily wage workers asked for the implementation of the Minimum Wages Act in Jammu and Kashmir for those earning daily rates.
Additionally, a delegation from Sidhra, led by former Corporator Shama Akhter, thanked the Minister for addressing the water supply challenges in their locality.
The Minister listened attentively to all representatives and provided assurances of swift action regarding their valid demands and issues. He indicated that their concerns would be communicated to the relevant departments for immediate attention.
In some instances, the Minister issued on-the-spot directives to involved officers to address the grievances raised.
