Jammu, Feb 13: Ravinder Raina, a national executive member of the BJP, has criticized PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s recent remarks about the national party, labeling them as “irresponsible and condemnable” and has called for an apology from her.
During the launch of her party’s membership drive, Mehbooba referred to the challenges in Jammu and Kashmir as an “incurable disease” and suggested that the BJP was not genuinely interested in resolving these issues, likening their approach to that of the Pakistani military, which she claimed exploits the situation for electoral gains.
“Her remarks are both irresponsible and highly condemnable. It appears that she is adopting a separatist stance in an effort to mislead the public and reclaim her lost political influence,” Raina stated in a reaction to Mehbooba’s comments, speaking to PTI.
Raina, who previously served as the president of the BJP’s J&K unit, accused the former chief minister of aligning her rhetoric with anti-national sentiments and sympathizing with such elements.
“Her comments are akin to expressing support for terrorism and separatism. She should recognize that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister and Amit Shah is the Home Minister, and under their leadership, no anti-national activities or terrorism will be tolerated,” he asserted.
Raina further emphasized the destructive impact of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir over the past three decades, which has resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent lives.
“Our security forces are making sacrifices for the nation. Terrorists are not allies; they are enemies of peace and the people. They will face consequences. She must apologize for her statements,” Raina concluded.
