JAMMU, Dec 10: On Tuesday, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, the Secretary of the Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR), carried out surprise inspections in the Bishnah and Arnia blocks to evaluate their administrative operations and the progress of ongoing development projects.
During the assessments, it was discovered that three Panchayat Account Assistants from the Bishnah block and one from Arnia block were improperly reassigned, contravening established government protocols.
Furthermore, numerous administrative staff were found working outside the Rural Development Department without proper authorization.
In response, the Secretary issued immediate instructions for block officials to promptly return all unauthorized personnel to their designated posts. He expressed serious concern over these infractions, urging the importance of adhering strictly to government regulations to promote transparency and efficiency within rural administrative frameworks.
Aijaz Asad called for swift corrective actions and warned against any further breaches of established procedures.
While reviewing the status of various initiatives in Bishnah and Arnia, the Secretary stressed the necessity of completing ongoing projects on time, directing officials to ensure that deadlines are met and high standards of work are maintained.
He also highlighted the urgent requirement for enhanced sanitation facilities in both blocks.
During his visit to Panchayat Changia, the Secretary assessed the construction progress of a Badminton Court funded by the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and Capex Budget.
Local former Sarpanchs, athletes, and community members urged the Secretary to accelerate the completion of the indoor stadium, requesting the installation of floodlights and polyvinyl flooring to facilitate nighttime use.
The Secretary pledged full support and directed block officials to ensure that the project is finalized within two months.
He was accompanied by Waseem Raja, Additional Secretary RD&PR, along with other senior officials.
