NEW DELHI, Jan 15: Australia-based real estate technology firm REA Group has named Vikas Wadhawan as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of REA Cyber City, an innovation hub located in Gurugram.
REA Group operates Housing.com and PropTiger.com through its subsidiary, REA India.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, Vikas Wadhawan will assume the role of COO at REA Cyber City and has joined the Global Technology Leadership Team.
Wadhawan previously served at REA India, where he was part of the founding team.
REA Cyber City, which officially opened its doors in October 2024, is the Group’s new innovation hub situated in Gurugram.
This hub aims to extend Australia’s REA operations, with teams focused on developing innovative products and features for Australia’s premier residential property website, realestate.com.au.
Steve Maidment, Chief Technology Officer of REA Group, emphasized that “the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer is a significant step for REA Cyber City and will be crucial in integrating our world-class engineering capabilities and refining our operational processes.”
Wadhawan expressed his commitment to enhancing REA’s reputation as a leading technology company in Australia while focusing on rapid scaling and leveraging the dynamic local talent pool to enhance the Group’s capabilities.
