New Delhi, Feb 2: Real Kashmir FC maintained their undefeated home record with a decisive 2-0 victory over Shillong Lajong FC in Srinagar. Meanwhile, Namdhari FC surged to the top of the I-League standings with a convincing 2-0 win against Delhi FC.
Aminou Bouba opened the scoring for the Snow Leopards just before half-time, heading in a long throw for his third goal this season. Although Lajong attempted a comeback, they found it difficult to penetrate Real Kashmir’s solid defence.
Kamal Issah put the game beyond doubt in the 88th minute, skillfully dodging defenders to score from a well-placed pass by Mohammed Aqib.
With 19 points from 12 matches, Real Kashmir rose to fourth place in the table, while Lajong remained in seventh with 16 points.
Namdhari FC Returns to the Top
Namdhari FC triumphed over Delhi FC in Mahilpur, Punjab.
After a slow start, Namdhari took the lead in the 30th minute when Bhupinder Singh converted a low cross from Jaskaranpreet Singh.
This goal shifted the momentum significantly, allowing Namdhari to assert control over the match.
Brazilian forward Cledson Carvalho Dasilva secured the victory in the 52nd minute with an assist from Bhupinder, marking his eighth goal of the season.
With 24 points from 12 matches, Namdhari sits atop the table, though Churchill Brothers could potentially surpass them in their next match.
Meanwhile, Delhi FC finds itself in a precarious position, languishing in 11th place with just nine points. (PTI)
