The Divisional Commissioner of Jammu oversaw the parade and raised the tricolor flag during the full dress rehearsal for the Union Territory’s Republic Day celebration in 2025, which took place at M A Stadium Jammu on January 24.
The parade featured contingents of both men and women from various organizations including the Army, BSF, CRPF, JKP, JKAP, IRP, SSB, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, ex-servicemen, the J&K Forest Protection Force, UTDRF, JK Fire & Emergency Services, and local school students.
Bands from the BSF, JKP, JKAP, Army, and schools played lively tunes as part of the march past.
Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner, inspected the parade, took the salute during the impressive march, and hoisted the national flag.
Students and artists from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages contributed to a vibrant cultural program that included themed presentations.
The Dare Devils of the Jammu and Kashmir Police captivated the audience with their thrilling demonstrations.
The cultural displays highlighted themes of national integration, unity in diversity, and the rich composite culture of the Jammu and Kashmir UT, along with performances of patriotic songs, folk music, and dance.
The tableaux showcased the region’s cultural diversity, along with themes such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, Swarnim Bharat Ki Virasat: Sahkar se Vikas, the Fit India Movement, and the War Against Drugs, reflecting the government’s initiatives and accomplishments.
Senior officials from the UT administration, nodal officers, and in-charge personnel were also in attendance.
