New Delhi, Jan 29: The tableau from Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the ongoing Mahakumbh at the 76th Republic Day celebrations, secured the top prize. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles marching contingent was recognized as the best among the three armed services.
Tripura’s tableau, themed “Eternal Reverence,” received the second prize for state and union territory entries, as reported by the Defence Ministry.
The third-best tableau was presented by Andhra Pradesh, which featured eco-friendly wooden toys.
Among the central ministries and departments, the tableau from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs was awarded the top honor.
The best marching contingent in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and auxiliary forces was noted to be the Delhi Police team.
The Defence Ministry established three judging panels to evaluate the performances of marching contingents from security forces, alongside tableaux from various states, union territories, and central ministries.
Additionally, an online poll was conducted on the MyGov platform from January 26 to 28, allowing the public to vote for their favorite tableau and marching contingents in the ‘Popular Choice’ category.
In this poll, Gujarat’s tableau (Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas) won first place, followed by Uttar Pradesh (Mahakumbh 2025) in second and Uttarakhand (Cultural Heritage and Adventure Sports) in third.
The award for the best marching contingent in the ‘Popular Choice’ category was given to the Signals contingent.
Among the CAPFs and auxiliary forces, the CRPF marching contingent was recognized as the best.
For the best tableau among central ministries and departments in the poll, the Ministry of Women and Child Development took home the award. (Agencies)
