NEW DELHI, Dec 9: Retail inflation for agricultural workers and rural laborers decreased to 5.96 percent and 6 percent, respectively, in October, down from 6.36 percent and 6.39 percent in September.
The All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Laborers (CPI-AL) and Rural Laborers (CPI-RL) saw an increase of 11 points and 10 points, respectively, in October 2024, reaching 1,315 and 1,326, according to a statement from the labor ministry.
As stated, the CPI-AL and CPI-RL were recorded at 1,304 points and 1,316 points, respectively, in September 2024.
“The year-on-year inflation rates based on CPI-AL and CPI-RL for October 2024 were noted at 5.96 percent and 6.00 percent, respectively, compared to 7.08 percent and 6.92 percent in October 2023. The figures corresponding to September 2024 stood at 6.36 percent for CPI-AL and 6.39 percent for CPI-RL,” it added. (PTI)
