JAMMU, Dec 21: In a pivotal move towards the elimination of cervical cancer, Rotary Bahu 3070, in partnership with Rotary Astha, Rotary Helping Hand, and the Inner Wheel Club, along with support from RCC SUPPORT, has launched the second phase of their campaign to safeguard underprivileged girls from Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
The initiative was spearheaded by Project Director Dr. Navneet Kaur, targeting girls aged 9 to 16 years from Bal Niketan, Channi Himmat, and urban slums in the area.
The campaign took place at Dr. KD Multi-Specialist Hospital in Jammu, where Dr. Kaur inaugurated the event, highlighting the critical need for early vaccination and awareness in the fight against cervical cancer.
Dr. Paras Khanna administered the first dose of the vaccine, while Chief Project Coordinator Vishali Goyal managed the event to ensure the smooth execution of the second phase, which saw 32 girls receive the HPV vaccine.
Project Coordinator Karuna Gupta spoke to the girls about the significance of vaccination and its benefits.
Manisha Sharma, President of the Inner Wheel Club for Women, affirmed the Club’s commitment to continuously support this initiative to protect young girls from the HPV virus.
Ritu Singh also lent her support to the campaign.
Dr. Sumit, CEO of Dr. KD Multi-Specialist Hospital, honored the occasion with his presence, endorsing this important cause.
Medical Partner President Dr. Rajpal Singh of Rotary Bahu 3070, along with other Clubs, vowed to persist in their efforts during future phases to ensure that no girl is overlooked in the battle against this preventable disease.
