Pathanamthitta (Kerala), Feb 5: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stated on Wednesday that the Hindu ‘samaj’ (society) can truly thrive only through unity, urging that all Hindus should be regarded as one, regardless of caste, region, or language.
Speaking at the Hindu Ekta Sammelan, which was organized during the Cherukolpuzha Hindu religious meeting here, Bhagwat emphasized that a cohesive society thrives, while a fragmented one diminishes.
He elaborated that being a Hindu reflects a “Swabhav” (nature) in which individuals utilize their knowledge to enhance understanding, their wealth for charitable purposes, and their strength to uplift the disadvantaged.
The RSS chief reiterated that in Hindu dharma, there is no superiority or inferiority; caste distinctions do not apply, and the concept of “untouchability” is absent.
He urged mutual respect among individuals, asserting that if “all Hindus unite, it will benefit the entire world.”
Bhagwat shared recommendations for achieving this unity, such as “self-knowledge,” equitable treatment of others, and environmental conservation.
He acknowledged that while policy changes for environmental protection may require time, individuals can undertake three simple actions: conserve water, plant trees, and eliminate plastics.
The RSS chief encouraged familial discussions regarding legacy, as he believes it could play a pivotal role in addressing Kerala’s drug crisis.
“Why are our youth turning to drugs? It stems from a lack of ‘sanskars’ at home,” he asserted.
He expressed that collective action can lead to “Hindu unity.”
“The entire world is looking to Hindustan to lead the way,” he concluded.
Bhagwat is visiting Kerala for two days and is scheduled to depart the state on February 6.
Previously, the RSS chief spent six days in the state in January for organizational activities. (Agencies)
