BHOPAL, Jan 19: Dattatreya Hosabale, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, emphasized the significant bond between mothers and their children within Indian culture. He drew parallels with Jijamata and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj while highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s profound affection for his mother.
The RSS general secretary noted that it was the unwavering support of Jijamata that led the iconic warrior king to numerous victories and the establishment of a vast empire.
Speaking at the ‘Jijamata Saman Samaroh’ organized by RSS’ Kreeda Bharati, Hosabale honored the mothers of notable athletes, including gymnast Dipa Karmakar, hockey legend PR Sreejesh, para shooter Avani Lekhara, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, and hockey player Vivek Sagar Prasad.
“Jijamata was a skilled administrator, embodying self-determination and foresight. She confronted challenges bravely and played a crucial role in Shivaji’s conquests, which became historical milestones,” he remarked.
Stressing the commitment and sacrifices made by mothers across the nation in shaping their children’s futures, Hosabale recounted how Jijamata shared stories from Hindu scriptures with Shivaji during his childhood.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds immense respect for his mother, a sentiment we have all witnessed,” the RSS leader mentioned.
On the topic of sports, he pointed out India’s proficiency in kho-kho and kabaddi.
“The times when India ranked low in the medals tally at international sports events are fading away. India’s standing is now on the rise,” he asserted.
Highlighting the value of sports, Hosabale referenced Swami Vivekanand’s saying, “Play football well, only then will you understand the Bhagavad Gita better.”
He stated that it is the athletes and soldiers who ensure the national flag is exalted high.
