KATHUA, Dec 1: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the necessity for collaboration among saints, enlightened individuals, and the administrative sectors to serve humanity effectively.
Speaking at the residence of MLA Rajiv Jasrotia in Kathua district, he engaged with the esteemed religious scholar Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya to seek his blessings.
Their conversation centered on the significance of promoting and preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
LG Sinha also requested Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya’s blessings for peace and prosperity within the Union Territory.
He described Swami Ram Swarup as an enlightened saint, a Yoga Guru, and a distinguished scholar, applauding his contributions to Sanskrit and his role in upholding India’s civilized values.
“The selfless service of Swami Ram Swarup inspires us to enhance and uphold our traditional and cultural heritage while working towards societal welfare,” he remarked.
The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the government’s dedication to safeguarding India’s rich traditions under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He highlighted the need to disseminate Indian cultural values and the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which promotes the idea of the world as one family.
He stated that with its historical heritage and talented populace, India is progressing towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Urging collective efforts, Sinha called upon saints, citizens, and administrative bodies to unite in serving humanity.
He stressed the importance of a social awakening to ensure equity, justice, and development at the grassroots level.
“Saints must serve as the conscience of society, guiding it towards a brighter future. Individuals must transcend self-interest and assume leadership roles across all areas of life,” he emphasized.
Swami Ram Swarup Yogacharya also delivered teachings focused on the Vedic principles that advocate universal brotherhood.
He underscored the continued relevance of Vedic knowledge, which he noted is divinely inspired and applicable universally, transcending the divisions of caste, creed, and color.
Noticing the societal deviations caused by the absence of Vedic education, Swami Ram Swarup highlighted the urgent need for Vedic studies to be reintroduced in educational institutions to foster a more robust nation.
The event featured hawan and yagna rituals conducted by Swami Ram Swarup, attracting hundreds of devotees.
He also engaged in preaching sessions from the Ved-Shastras and performed spiritual songs inspired by the Vedas and teachings of saints.
Swami Ram Swarup reiterated that adhering to Vedic tenets is crucial for establishing a harmonious society.
He emphasized that both citizens and the government bear the responsibility to promote these teachings to foster societal uplift and national advancement.
The event concluded with a call to embrace Vedic values for achieving universal peace and prosperity.
