SRINAGAR, Jan 3: The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted an extensive inspection of Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Memorial (JLNM) Hospital in Rainawari today, assessing the medical facilities available to the local residents.
Accompanied by MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, and other senior health department officials, the Minister thoroughly examined the hospital’s overall operations. She reviewed the outpatient department (OPD), inpatient department (IPD), operation theatre, blood bank, and several other units.
During her engagement with the hospital administration and on-duty staff, Sakeena Itoo highlighted the need for cleanliness and hygiene within the wards to ensure a conducive patient care environment. She instructed the hospital management to maintain continuous heating systems within the facility, given the severe cold this winter.
The Minister further emphasized the critical nature of timely maintenance of medical equipment to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to the public.
While inspecting the medical supplies section of the hospital, she evaluated the inventory and urged officers to ensure an adequate stock of medications and other essential equipment during the winter months.
Sakeena Itoo assured the hospital administration of ongoing government support and encouraged them to work diligently to meet the healthcare needs of the community.
She also took time to converse with patients and their families, gathering immediate feedback regarding the healthcare services provided at the hospital.
