KULGAM, Feb 23: Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education, visited Kulgam today to inaugurate two newly built New Type Primary Health Center (NTPHC) facilities in the villages of Lammer and Chowgam.
Present at the inauguration were MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah; Director of Health Services, Kashmir; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC); Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR); senior officials from the Health Department, along with local residents.
In her address, the Minister emphasized the commitment of the Omar Abdullah-led Government towards enhancing the healthcare framework throughout Jammu & Kashmir. “Our Government is resolved to fill healthcare voids in underprivileged areas and guarantee that high-quality medical care is accessible to everyone, significantly decreasing the reliance on distant healthcare facilities,” stated Sakeena.
She also emphasized the critical role of ensuring accessible healthcare for all, especially in remote regions. “These health centers will be pivotal in delivering essential medical services to the residents of these villages and their neighboring areas, ensuring timely medical aid for everyone,” she remarked.
The Minister pointed out that the current Administration is focused on delivering quality healthcare for all citizens. She asserted that the Government will make critical medical services more available and adequately equipped to meet public demands.
On the occasion, MLA Devsar, Peerzada Feroze Ahmad, remarked that these healthcare facilities would greatly enhance the medical services available to the local community here.
