JAMMU, Jan 23: Sakeena Itoo, the Minister for Health, Medical, Social Welfare, and Education, visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu and SMGS Hospital, Shalamar, to check on the health and well-being of patients from Budhal village in Rajouri district.
She was accompanied by MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, the Principal of GMC Jammu, Medical Superintendents from both hospitals, and other relevant medical staff.
During her visit, Sakeena Itoo spoke with the patients from Budhal, promising them government support and assistance. She informed affected families that a thorough investigation is in progress to understand the cause of the recent tragedy. “The Health Department, Police Department, and district administration are working around the clock to uncover the true cause behind this incident,” the Minister emphasized.
While overseeing the care and treatment of these patients, she urged the hospital administration to regularly monitor their health conditions. She instructed them to ensure that a sufficient number of doctors and paramedics are available for ongoing oversight and to keep the ministry informed about the patients’ progress.
