SAMBA, Feb 18: The Samba Premier T20 Cup was officially launched today by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma at the Rani Suchet Singh Stadium. This tournament marks the commencement of an exciting cricketing initiative designed to engage the youth and promote social change.
Coordinated by the District Administration of Samba in partnership with the Excise Department, the tournament showcases 16 teams, involving over 200 talented young cricketers from the district.
DC Rajesh Sharma initiated the event by performing the toss for the first match and interacted with the participants.
“This tournament transcends mere competition; it is an effort to redirect youthful energy into constructive activities. Sports nurture discipline, cooperation, and a healthy lifestyle, which are essential in building a resilient community,” expressed the DC.
As part of the district’s campaign against drug misuse and fostering a sports-oriented culture, this tournament sets a benchmark for upcoming events that encourage youth engagement.
The inauguration saw the presence of ADC Jagdish Singh and various other officials from the district.
