NEW DELHI, Jan 6: The Minister for FCS & CA, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Information & Technology, Science and Technology, ARI and Trainings, Satish Sharma, met with Union Minister for Railway Information Broadcasting and Electronic and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnav, today to discuss various essential issues related to Railway, Information Technology, and related sectors.
Satish Sharma expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for his support in the comprehensive development of J&K. He also addressed various development concerns including the Railway Line from Jammu to Poonch via Akhnoor, Chhamb, Sunderbani, and Nowshera, the extension of the Railway line to Uri and Kupwara from Baramulla, and IT Corporate parks in Jammu and Srinagar aimed at generating job opportunities for thousands of IT-trained professionals.
Additionally, the Minister advocated for the establishment of Data Centres at District and Tehsil Headquarters, the creation of a State Emergency Operation Centre, and the enhancement of State Wide Area Network 2.0 to include the remaining Points of Presence (PoPs) left out from SWAN 1.0 for improved internet connectivity across all districts. He called for the augmentation of Common Service Centres (CSCs) and the establishment of electronic manufacturing units by major multinational corporations in J&K, implementing facilities similar to CDOT, and adopting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for all departments in J&K, along with a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
Satish Sharma also pushed for the introduction of new programs to reinforce the developmental initiatives being undertaken by the Government. He sought to expand the scope of development projects to ensure maximum benefits reach the broader population, emphasizing that this would enable people to access essential facilities and elevate their standards to match those found in the country’s metropolitan areas.
The Union Minister assured that the central Government is dedicated to speeding up development in J&K and vowed to take into consideration the issues and demands presented by Satish Sharma.
