JAMMU, Feb 7: Today, Satish Sharma, the Minister for FCS&CA, Transport, Youth Services, and Sports, officially opened the Inter-School Badminton Tournament at IDPS Jammu, organized under the auspices of the Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex.
The two-day event features players from 20 CBSE schools across the region.
Additionally, Sharma inaugurated the IDPS Combat Academy for Martial Arts and a Splash Pool aimed at the primary wing, marking a significant step in the school’s commitment to promoting health, fitness, and wellness among students.
In his speech, the Minister conveyed his best wishes to all participating teams from various schools. He emphasized that this event celebrates not just talent and sportsmanship but also the unity and camaraderie that sports cultivate among the youth.
He encouraged all participants to engage with enthusiasm and uphold sportsmanship, highlighting the dual goals of striving for victory while embracing the spirit of healthy competition and mutual respect.
Sharma underlined the crucial role of sports in developing young leaders and maintaining a well-rounded education, noting that sports possess the ability to unite and inspire.
