JAMMU, Feb 5: Former Minister and prominent Congress figure, Yogesh Sawhney, met with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary today to address important developmental issues in the Jammu East constituency.
Key topics of the meeting included enhancing road connectivity and tackling urgent challenges faced by the Public Works Department (PWD). Sawhney brought several critical matters to light that are impacting local residents, urging swift intervention and solutions. He was joined by a delegation made up of local community members and representatives to voice pressing local concerns.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured that all issues raised would be meticulously examined and dealt with expeditiously.
During the meeting, Sawhney expressed hope that these long-standing problems would soon find resolution and praised the Deputy Chief Minister for his proactive approach. He also emphasized the importance of these issues for the growth and welfare of the Jammu East populace. Sawhney expressed confidence that, with the Deputy CM’s involvement, the necessary actions would be taken without delay.
Many challenges in Jammu East have been overlooked in previous years, resulting in deteriorating infrastructure and PWD projects, adversely affecting numerous families. He pointed out the stalled Tootan Di Khui to Sandi road project under PMDP, which has been inactive due to ERA for over two years, along with the 3 km stretch from Panchayat Khanna Chargal (Dagore to Pundar), the Aitham to Said Jagir road under PMGSY, and the road connecting Mohalla Basant Singh Chabba to Raj Singh House impacting 500 residents.
He also advocated for the construction of a pathway leading from the footbridge at Katal Batal to Bhair Devsthan and requested improvements to the Surjwan-Chatta-Sandi road, while also seeking enhancements to the transport infrastructure in these regions.
The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed his dedication to prioritizing developmental initiatives and assured that all raised concerns would be addressed swiftly.
Accompanying Sawhney were Varinder Singh Manhas, Sat Pal Sapolia, Ram Magotra, Hader Hussain, Din Mohd, Mohd Aslam, Sultan Mohd, and Madam Lal.
