UDHAMPUR, Mar 4: In a bid to foster digital literacy and provide vocational training, the State Bank of India (SBI), as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has donated computers and related accessories totaling Rs. 5,64,500 to the Dhruva AWWA Vocational Training Centre in Udhampur.
The contribution comprised six desktop computers, one server PC, seven UPS units, six headphones, English-speaking software, along with 18 computer tables and chairs.
According to a handout, this donation is intended to enhance the students’ learning experience by granting them access to cutting-edge technology and improving their digital skills.
The initiative was spearheaded by the SBI Chinar Compound, Udhampur branch, with the guidance of Regional Manager, Rajeev Kumar Chabra.
The formal handover of the donation took place in the presence of Branch Manager, Vikram Dev Arya, and Senior Associate, Ashwani Kumar, who visited the training centre and engaged with the beneficiaries.
During the event, Branch Manager Vikram Dev Arya highlighted SBI’s dedication to empowering communities through educational and skill development initiatives. He remarked that access to technology is crucial in the modern world and that this initiative will provide students with vital computer skills, thereby enhancing their employment opportunities.
The Dhruva AWWA Vocational Training Centre expressed its appreciation for SBI’s generous donation, recognizing the positive effects it will have on the skill development programs available to students.
